Glossary Words

algorithm: A precise rule (or set of rules) specifying how to solve some problem; The term is often used in the context of computer software, describing the program logic used to perform a specific function.

calibration: Standardization of an instrument by determining the deviation from a known standard. Calibration is done to determine the type of adjustments needed for data taken by a certain instrument.

validation: Act of validating or authenticating; Finding or testing the truth of something.
